It’s National Tree Day…aka Arbor Day
Arbor Day is the last Saturday in April each year in the United States. The holiday is observed at various times in many countries around the world to recognize the importance trees play in our lives and their importance in the ecosystem.
Yes, trees are so respected and loved, they get an entire holiday of their own.
The day was first observed in Nebraska in 1872, when it’s estimated that one million trees were planted throughout the state. Later Theodore Roosevelt was convinced by conservationist Gifford Pinchot to spread his message of conservation beyond the industry leaders, directly to the school children. In 1907 Roosevelt issued an “Arbor Day Proclamation ot the School Children of the United States” to begin raising awareness among the general public about the importance of trees and forestry to our nation.
Willow Creek Tree Farm is proud of the work we do to provide trees to the community. Trees help clean the air—reducing carbon and providing clean oxygen for people to breathe. They raise the value of properties and lower temperatures during the hot summer months.
If you are looking for trees to plant this Arbor Day, or any other day, Willow Creek Tree Farm would like to help you plant for the future.
